ABOUT

JoLouise--Middle names together

My daughter (Emmy Jo) and my grand daughter (Hadley Jo) PLUS mine  (Patricia Louise), my mother's and my maternal grandmother (both-Emma Louise) EQUALS:  JoLouise.  A history of women I love and I will always hold dear to my heart.

Most of my career has been in accounting until about a year ago. In May 2013 I had taken a class to learn how to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and fell in love.  As of May 2015, I have done over 100 pieces of furniture of which 25% have been commissioned pieces/special orders. I am "charmed by chalk paint®"  Old, forgotten and outdated furntiure is transformed to new life and glory

I often find myself praying for the person who will buy my piece of furniture.  Just as the new paint transforms each piece to a new purpose, a new life and a new future; that is my prayer for the purchaser, to  find their salvation in the person of Jesus Christ.  17Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

2 Corinthians 5:17

2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.  Romans 12:2

Old becomes new, purpose restored, transformation through renewal.

Endless Possibilities
Crackle medium
Mid-century modern style
Mid-Century modern style is making a huge come back; but the blonde finish?--not so much. This piece up cycled with a beautiful smooth painted finish in ASCP Paris Grey and Pure White. Stunning!
Dry Brush Technique
This antique washstand in oak with it's pretty hardware just needed a little epicycle. Painting the "bones" and dry brushing the rest in ASCP Old White was just the ticket.
Close up-3 color layering technique
Many steps involved in a layering technique but so worth it. Makes a dull, lifeless piece move and come alive! See the entire piece in the Gallery page.

Whether enhanced by adding a patina finish with dark wax or an aged affect with crackle medium... adding texture and depth can make a piece a one of a kind treasure.
